Moxy Maxwell Does Not Love Stuart Little by Peggy Gifford

It's the last day before fourth grade starts. Moxy was supposed to read Stuart Little for her summer reading assignment. She has put it off this long, but with very good reasons. (At least that's what she thinks.)

This is a cute, fast read. Moxy is a great little quirky character. The pictures are all photographs that her brother Mark takes. I love the fact that Moxy reads a ton, but from books that she gets to choose. Who wants a summer reading assignment with a test when you return back to school? Yuck!

If you enjoy this one, there are more Moxy books to check out.

I have to giggle about the cleverness of this books concept. Book reading assignments can be a challenge for kids of all ages.

When my bother was a junior in high school, he was given the assignment to read "Uncle Tom's Cabin", which he procrastinated until the bitter end. In fact, he never read it.

I'm curious as to how Moxy solves this problem. As for my brother, he decided to write a report and try to convince the teacher that he actually read the book. He ended up getting an A!! The teacher was so impressed, he had my brother read the report in class! Very few of us were EVER that lucky because that teacher was a really hard one!

I'm totally recommending this book to my brother!
